My wife Carla and myself spent our first day in Bangkok, Thailand. Back in November 2011 my sister-in-law Margarita sent me the Book, “Buddha’s Brain”. It has been a fantastic read. More about the book later.

Today we went on a private tour riding bikes out in the country. The day was 85% humidity and 88 degrees fahrenheit. Comparing Utah with a temperature of 35 degrees Fahrenheit and snow this time of year, Thailand did not seem so hot. as a country is the size of Texas, with 35 million people. 94% of the citizens in Thailand are Buddhists. It seemed that every 2 kilometers was a temple, most were Buddhist and some Chinese temples. Our guide spoke fairly good English and I asked him so many questions. He said that Buddha died 2,555 years ago and in one temple we saw intricate wood working in teak that depicted the life of Buddha.

With today’s experience and pondering the Book, “Buddha’s Brian” I started having a clearer picture of their perspective on the mind. Words like; Empathy, Compassion, Understanding, the good wolf, the bad wolf, and many other meaningful words that really describe the human mind. The authors of the book approach Buddha’s Brain from a scientific point of view. They describe Neurons, dopamine, frontal cortex, and much more that can help overcome suffering and lead to happiness.

As a certified hypnotherapist specializing in weight loss and sports I like to glean knowledge from other cultures on how they view the mind. I am on a quest to find new visualization techniques that will help over weight individuals who are suffering, change their mind set so that they lose weight, become healthier, and most important happier. I must say that today was most enlightening.

Tomorrow we fly to Phuket, Thailand and I look forward to asking more deeper questions about those who have attained the Buddha mindset.

In todays fast paced and stressed society more Americans are becoming obese and unhealthy. Chronic stress floods your brain with cortisol and has been shown to have negative effects, such as:

Higher blood pressure

Decrease in muscle tissue

Blood sugar imbalances such as hyperglycemia

Suppressed thyroid function

Impaired cognitive performance

Decreased bone density

Lowered immunity and inflammatory responses in the body, slowed wound healing, and other health consequences

Increased abdominal fat, which is associated with a greater amount of health problems than fat deposited in other areas of the body. Some of the health problems associated with increased stomach fat are heart attacks, strokes, the development of metabolic syndrome, higher levels of “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and lower levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL), which can lead to other health problems!

Studies show that hypnotic relaxation techniques are a great way to combat stress levels. It helps cortisol levels stay healthy and under control. David Meine has created 4 powerful self-hypnosis CDs in order to help customers enter a relaxed state and build positive habits to combat weight loss:

Building a Foundation for Successful Weight Loss

Deep Sleep for Effective Weight Loss

Overcoming Sabotage – Dealing with Weight Loss Distractions

Healthy Eating Habits for Sustained Weight Loss

Each CD builds a foundation for relaxation and opening your mind to powerful suggestions that will create an environment for positive and healthy change.

Did you know that creating your ideal shape ultimately leads to happiness?

What is it about the human mind that makes it so powerful, it’s fascinating to watch people say that they cannot do something and then see something change in their mindset and all of sudden they can accomplish the very thing that they said they couldn’t do.

I have spoken with lots of people who have done multiple diets and lose some weight then when that weight loss program or plan is over they put all the weight back. The programs work but, what didn’t work was something that is going on in the human mind that allows them to put all that weight back on. They achieve momentary happiness and is quickly turned into a negative experience.

It is my observation that many people who put the weight back on, is because somewhere in their belief system there’s either negative programming or bad training or experiences that makes them believe that they are not worthy to maintain their ideal weight (ideal shape).

The goal of creating your ideal shape is that ultimately it leads you to happiness. Happiness in the way that you look, the way that you feel, the positive thoughts in your mind, and the way that people look at you boosts your self-confidence. Another positive side affect is that your self esteem goes up and your mind is even filled with more positive thoughts about yourself.

Weight loss supplements, meal replacement shakes and exercise are great tools for creating your ideal shape but, ultimately it’s more important that you train your brain to control your weight loss. Once your brain is in the game, then weight loss programs will be effective for the long term.

It is my life’s aspiration to help motivated people learn how to train their brain and find happiness in how they look and feel. I started with myself first and now I have helped thousands of people find happiness by creating their ideal shape.

Are you ready to join our journey for promoting happiness?

In the modern world today we hear many successful individuals purport that positive thinking was the difference in reaching their goals. In the weight loss world it is getting more and more common to hear how hypnosis helps people “think” their way thin. You’re beginning to see claims that say you will no longer have to diet by popping pills or exercising. To be successful all you have to do is “Think and Think and Think” to shed off the weight.

The truth of the matter, is somewhere in-between. Weight loss takes a combined approach of healthy eating, exercise, and a positive mindset. The number one problem with changing your body shape is that you have to change your thinking. Anyone who has been on multiple diets can tell you about all of the negative thoughts that caused them to quit. You’ll hear about how they got ‘burned out’.

Our subconscious is a powerful force (causing us to learn better with sleep, or sometimes makes us think we’re more talented than we are.) which represents 88% of your brainpower. If you have had negative weight loss experiences in your past like:

“You’re probably going to grow up to be fat. Here, have another deep fried chicken wing. Grandma loves you!”

it can be what is holding you back from accomplishing your weight loss goals.

The advantage of hypnosis for weight loss is that it can slow down your mind so you can become more focused and have a heightened awareness about your mental approach to weight loss. I believe that you have to train your brain to overcome sabotage from yourself and others, create a positive environment in your subconscious mind, and train your brain on changing an old negative behavior to new productive and positive thinking.

Yes, thinking yourself thin is an important step in the right direction but it is not the end all for healthy weight loss. Your subconscious mind must be trained repetitively for it to believe that you truly want to change an out dated negative belief. Hypnosis should be used to enforce positive habits, such as, eating 5 small healthy meals a day, drinking half your body weight in water each day, getting a good nights sleep, and consistent exercise.

Hypnosis in general has been very miss understood for the last 100 years. Recently, Hypnosis has shown to provide very positive and successful outcomes for weight loss (body shaping). It is not uncommon to hear people at parties or public gatherings talk about a positive experience they had with Hypnotherapy. These experiences now range from pain relief, remembering details for forensics, addiction recovery, weight loss, and many other applications that are beneficial for most individuals.

What does “Suggestibility” have to do with Hypnosis? Suggestibility is how we learn. Initially for each one of us, learning is accomplished through our primary caretaker (could be mother or father), from birth till approximately age five. From age’s six to nine, the child’s suggestibility is also influenced by their peers, teachers, and others. From ages nine to fourteen, the secondary caretaker (mother or father) begins to influence the child’s suggestibility.

Suggestibility learning can affect the brain in one of two ways. First, people who are Right Brain dominate, typically learn through the physical (learns more literally). Second, people who are Left Brain dominate learn through the emotional (inference – message behind the words).

Throughout a person’s lifetime they will have many positive and negative suggestions placed in their subconscious. Research has shown that once we are capable of making decisions and developing will power, this becomes our conscious mind, which represents 12% of our total mind power. The subconscious mind is made up of the remaining 88% of our total mind power.

It is in the subconscious where our suggestions (beliefs) about weight loss, exercise and, eating healthy foods are stored. Based on our past caregivers and peers their suggestions have developed negative or positive beliefs about weight loss in general. When trying to change a specific negative behavior, it has to be done at the subconscious level. Most people fail to change if they are only using the conscious brain which only has a total mind power of 12%.

When www.idealshape.com describes getting your brain in the game, it is referring to the 88% mind power that is represented in the subconscious mind. Weight loss, exercise, and healthy lifestyle can be affected dramatically by Hypnotherapy. The goal of Hypnosis is to create a positive environment in the subconscious so the brain can accept positive learning and will power. Self Hypnosis CD’s are critical for the repetition of positive suggestions that will replace negative behavior or addictions.
